Chasing Mediocrity at Dakota Five-0

As the official photog/paparazzi for the Goathead team (ie, too slow to race), I had a blast experiencing my first Dakota Five-0. Hanging out with good friends, seeing the majesty of the wonder called Wall Drug, learning about Bumpin Buffalos, and getting to be a part of the Five-0 scene made for a very memorable weekend.

I had a great time chasing down my guys at each station, seeing the comradery, and even just cheering on each rider that went by on the path. If you're not racing, the next best thing is supporting those who are. I would love to do it again.

Watching out for Nature

I was riding the other day and saw this little friendly turtle guy in the middle of the road, so I picked him up and moved him to a safe spot:

Manawa - 4/20

The Professor, Proletariat and myself went out to Manawa on Sunday. Overall it was fairly dry, with a few spots to avoid and the small pond near the end section. Since we got miles on the road the day before, this was mostly a play da... I mean bike handling training day.

**braaaaaap** Burpin my bike.

Here's a little something we like to call the Proletariat Slide.

A Swanson Saturday

The Angry Butcher took me along to sharpen his cleavers on Saturday, looking forward to a bountiful new season. While we just road the front-side to avoid getting our pretty tires dirty, the new signs that marked sections as "difficult" puffed up our egos enough that it didn't really matter we missed out on the whole trail. The only thing better would be black diamond signs that say "May Cause Injury or Death!" If the parking lot had one of these signs, we would ride around our cars all day and leave feeling like we conquered the world.

A shout out to Mike D. and the mustache posse - thanks for making my day! You and Mod put the Goatheads to shame.

Angry Butcher's Manawa Revenge

The Angry Butcher had his revenge this last Saturday, against the evils of Manawa. This time he came loaded with the right weaponry to take out anything that attempted to block his path. Coop also came out for his first ride at Manawa, and his first ride with a GoatHead. He was quick to show off his dirt bike skills. Based on Coop's and Johnny Law's history, I say we all take up dirt bikes in the winter to practice up for the next MTB season.

It was a superb November day for the Professor and I to hit the trails with the guys.
